Anna Gosteli

DISCOVER ANNA'S WORLD
Anna Gosteli grew up in the Austrian mountains, where her mother entertained the tourists by singing evergreens (often with her infant daughter) and playing self taught guitar to make them order another round. At the age of ten Anna got in touch with all kinds of music through the well renowned choir of her catholic boarding school. To this day harmonizing is one of her favorite musical tools. Anna is a professional singer and composer. She studied jazz composition, vocal performance and producing at the Music Academy of Northwestern Switzerland from 2009 to 2013. She is a founding member of the Swiss Artpop-band «The bianca Story», with whom she wrote and recorded the album «Coming Home» in 2010 at Abbey Road Studios in London. After winning the „Basel Pop Award“ in 2010, the band was signed to Tim Renner’s label MOTOR MUSIC in Berlin and reached the highest crowdfunding sum for music in Europe (€ 90,000) with the album «DIGGER» in 2013. Since 2011 she has been working regularly with the German film composer Biber Gullatz for German television productions, who let her produce her Swiss German project «Dr Schnuu und sini Tierli» in his home studio in Berlin in 2017. For that she received the «Get Going!» grant from the copyright society SUISA, worth CHF 25,000 in 2019. «Schnuu» has since been elating young and young at heart listeners with his Duo, Trio and Big Band Performances. Her newest and probably most elaborate project is the alternative pop band «Kid Empress». There she joins forces with four likeminded professional musicians who distillate their love for various styles and techniques. Anna teaches as an independent singing teacher and choir and band workshop leader at the music school Guggenheim in Liestal and for helvetiarockt who are committed to gender equality in contemporary music.

Kid Empress
At times we all should allow ourselves to see the world through children's eyes. Anna Gosteli, Baf Scheipers, Joscha Arnold and Severin Rauch share an unbiased view on things. It leaves space for dreaming and amazement and allows diversity - concerning both their music and their appreciation for equality in love. In Kid Empress four friends celebrate the flow of creative energy and fantasy, which was essential for them, completing jazzstudies at the same college a few years ago. Through music they let themselves drift in the boundless Indie-cosmos and combine styles that need to be connected by band-opinion. Rock with breakbeat - industrial with pop and electronics with scandinavian clarity. Their songs carry hommages to different cultures, without a certain musical homeland. The base is the space between chairs - wonderfully challenging and straight to the heart.

Dr Schnuu
The two musicians Sautrelle (Anna Gosteli) and Mirabelle (Martina Stutz) use their songs to tell of everyday life situations in which the old sock «Schnuu»'s animal friends are lovingly portrayed. Since 2017, they have been performing as a duo with guitar, vocals and looper and now also enchant children and those who are still children at heart as a trio with the great euphonist Raphaël Rossé or even with an eleven-person big band including vibraphone and harp.

The bianca Story
The bianca Story is a Swiss indiepop band, active 2006 to 2020, with roots in Basel. They released four Albums and one EP, toured all over Europe and made a name for themselves with big theater productions in Germany and Switzerland. Other milestones were collaborations with Dieter Meier (Yellow) and Jan Blomqvist.

Guilty Pleasures
Their love for popular and alternative music from the last seventy years brought this unconventional trio together:
Raphaël Rossé with his warm sound and amazing skills on his Euphonium, Gabriel Wyss playing every song he's heard once on his guitar and Anna Gosteli, as a living jukebox will play everything from Nirvana's «Heart Shaped Box» to Joni Mitchell's «Both Sides Now»
